Review: Houndstooth Coffee

I walked into a sea of college students and their MacBooks. It seemed that Houndstooth is a popular study spot and I could tell why. The music playing was relaxing, but not enough to put you to sleep. There were some pretty good songs playing such as Cage the Elephant, Vampire Weekend and more. The interior was crisp and modern; the only thing missing were some comfy pillows for when you’re sitting there for hours working on a paper. The aroma of coffee alone was strong enough to wake me up, so I could not wait to get my hands on some coffee. I ordered a Cortado, a Spanish coffee, which is one of my favorites because it’s so strong. The barista was courteous and informative about the process they go through to make the coffee because they do things a little differently to get as much flavor out of the beans as possible. The coffee was definitely strong and had such a savory flavor it took willpower not to gulp it down. I had high expectations for the coffee and it exceeded them. They have high quality drinks in a cool space. Houndstooth also offers various teas and pastries. For coffee lovers, this is definitely the place to go.
