On Thursday, Aug. 22, Allen High School had a lockdown drill at 1:15 PM. This lockdown was unplanned by the administration and unexpected to staff.

However, it has been revealed via Allen High School’s public relations team that the lockdown button was inadvertently activated. Campus administration and the Allen Police had an immediate response, and came to this conclusion. Classes have resumed as normal.

As the lockdown occured in the middle of D-lunch, multiple students were left in the cafeteria during what they may have assumed was a real threat. The school noted that it was very proud of how the Allen staff and students reacted when faced with this unplanned situation.
