5 Life Hacks You Should Know

5+Life+Hacks+You+Should+Know

Sometimes, we humans have the tendency to do things the hard way. To go down the tough road. To go through extra trouble to get simple things done. This is not done voluntarily – it’s because sometimes, we don’t know the easy way out. These life hacks should (hopefully) make your robust, productive life just a little bit easier.

  1. Instead of peeling an orange, unroll it the fast way.

First, take a knife and slice off the top and bottom bases of the orange. Then, cut halfway through the orange from top to bottom and open the fruit. The orange will present itself in appetizing, individual segments. You’ll never have to pick out the peel from under your fingernails ever again.

  1. Keep your iced coffee strong all day.

Sick of making iced coffee only to find the ice cubes watering it down? Try making coffee ice cubes. Brew some coffee and pour it into an ice cube tray. Have the ice cubes freeze for 3-4 hours or overnight. Pop those into your coffee for a strong drink that lasts all day and doesn’t get watered down.

  1. Fix your keyboard’s broken feet with binder clips.

Don’t waste your money on a new keyboard. With your fingers or pliers, pop the two metal tabs out from the black plastic piece. Find the holes where the keyboard feet used to be and stick each end of the binder tabs inside. Your keyboard will be propped up like new.

  1. Protect your charger from breaking or bending.

Apple iPhone chargers have earned a reputation for their cheap quality and unreasonable price. To prevent the cord from splitting, take the spring out of an old pen. Wrap it around the tip of the cord and this should prevent any damage from occurring.

  1. Silica gel packets do have an actual purpose.

These packets are mainly found in shoe boxes, with clear instructions to throw them away and not eat them. But, silica gel is actually a desiccant, which is a substance that absorbs moisture, making these packets perfect for keeping things extremely dry and moisture-free. Use them in instrument cases, ziploc bags with technological devices when traveling or any other place where you don’t want moisture damage.
