FrdOn Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, the Allen Eagles defeated the Prosper Eagles 31-30. Allen and Prosper were both undefeated teams, determining Allen as the winners of the district 6-6A title.
The football game was rescheduled to 1 p.m. Friday from its original evening time due to severe weather. Students with parent permission to attend the game were excused from school after 11 a.m., although the excused absence still counted against the fall exam exemption attendance requirement. The high school set up a separate checkout system for the game through the Performing Arts Center.
Prosper opened the scoring in the first quarter with a field goal, taking a 3-0 lead. The first quarter ended 19 minutes after kickoff.
During the second quarter, Allen’s running back Lyndon Spriggs scored a touchdown, raising the score 7-3. Prosper’s Jason Miller Jr. made a 75-yard complete pass to Lathon Latiolais, scoring a touchdown for Prosper and bringing them up 10-7. Then, Allen’s quarterback Jeremiah Doud made a 50-yard complete pass to wide receiver Carter Harris, scoring another touchdown and putting Allen ahead 14-10.
Doud made a 13-yard complete pass to Spriggs, scoring Allen’s third touchdown and extending their lead 21-10. Allen recovered a fumbled ball from Prosper on their 28-yard line and took their 21-10 lead into halftime.
Allen kicked off the third quarter. With 8 minutes left, Prosper scored an 11-yard rushing touchdown, closing the game with a score of 21-17.
Closing the third quarter, Prosper’s No. 12 threw a 45-yard forward pass to Latiolais. The play was reviewed and confirmed, giving Prosper a 24-21 lead.
During the fourth quarter, Allen turned over possession due to a missed field goal. Later, Allen’s kicker Preston Hurless scored a field goal with their ball on the 24-yard line, tying the Eagles 24-24.
Prosper then scored a touchdown, breaking the tie to 24-30. At the two-minute mark, Allen scored a touchdown, putting them in the lead 31-30. Then, Allen missed a kick, turning possession to Prosper.
After a close game, Allen claimed their win on Prosper’s field and the title for district 6-6A with a final score of 31-30.
