“What made me decide to change my lifestyle was my health. My health was declining rapidly, and it was just a matter of being mentally and physically tired all the time, and really having to deal with that extra weight. I had to end up loving myself enough to pursue and accomplish my goals and my goal weight. Before, I was just [losing weight] for the wrong reasons, this time I was doing it for me. I do strict cardio, follow a strict diet, and workout 3-4 times a week. I count calories, but not crazy! You know there are some days you can have cheat days and eat whatever you want, but I try to make sure that I don’t ruin how far I’ve come with one day of just eating. My personal health was the biggest motivator. I want to become a doctor, how am I supposed to be a doctor and preach health if I’m not healthy myself? [After my weight loss] I feel so happy, mentally. But after evolving as a person, you don’t just do it physically, or mentally, but you do it emotionally. You do it for the people you have in your life that are rooting for you. I’ve changed the way I live, and I have a more positive outlook on life, I’m more confident in my abilities, as a friend, future doctor, daughter, student. Being healthy is so broad, but such an amazing way to live.”
