Trends to try: thigh high boots
I, along with the rest of the world, have been intrigued by the “thigh high boots” that have been circling around social media platforms. From Gigi Hadid to the infamous Leandra Medine, these boots are on basically every fashion forward girl. But if you’re not Gigi Hadid… or Leandra Medine (say an average high school girl), these intriguing boots might lay more in the intimidating, “”how the heck am I supposed to even wear these to school?””range. But if I’ve learned anything about fashion so far, it’s that “cool” is nothing but a state of mind, and maybe a little bit of styling.
Here’s some tips on how to rock these chic kicks down your unworthy school halls:
1. It doesn’t have to be all about the boots
Try sticking to an outfit you wear frequently or are comfortable in. I think this makes sense when you’re trying anything new and scary; this way the risk won’t feel as risqué. Also think about including mixed prints to your outfit to help avoid the boots being the center focus.
2. Create a subtle allure
Pair your boots with a mini skirt or fitted dress, leaving about an inch or so of your leg exposed for a sultry yet classy look. The boots will mimic elongated thigh high socks.
3. Sweater dresses
Add a chunky sweater dress to accompany your boots. It can be really hard to find the perfect shoes for a sweater dress, but thigh high boots make it look easy and effortless-plus you’ll be really warm and comfy).
