Beauty Behind the Madness

The Weeknd is a singing star who has been getting a lot of buzz, especially with his new album Beauty Behind The Madness. The album has the potential for being the top album of the month with its smooth melodies and techno beats, but what makes this album different than any other album similar to it? What makes people want this album more than any other album?

The answer, nothing really. It’s just another one of those albums that makes you feel emotional, particularly over a girl. A basic album concept, except Beauty Behind The Madness makes interesting points. I think the creation of this album was supposed to be very emotional and soul grabbing, but The Weeknd wanted to provide something that both shared a story and a radio friendly product, and this album was the end result. The album plays like a victory lap, with The Weeknd revisiting past glories and idolizing them. Some of his top songs include “The Hills” followed by “Tell Your Friends” and “Can’t Feel My Face.” Although these songs are some of the top played songs on the radio, the other songs such as “Losers” and “Dark Times” will be left in the dark because most people would rather listen to something that keeps the car ride enjoyable.

The Weeknd tried to make an album that people would be able to dance to, and it is evident in “The Hills.” The album not only makes you feel emotional but makes you want to sleep after listening halfway. Not only that, but the songs all seem like they are saying the same thing, but in different ways and there is no variance of lyrics.

This is why I give the album a B-. The album has the potential to be great and there are some good songs on there, but the whole album itself did not sell to me and it failed to reach its full potential.
