Netflix must watch

With more than 9,381 movies and 4,505 TV shows currently streaming on Netflix, the possibilities of how to spend your time staring at your smart phone or TV are virtually endless.

“Orange is the New Black” takes you on an emotional roller coaster all within the walls of an all girls prison. This show tells the story of Piper Chapman as tension rises between her relationship with  fiancée Larry Bloom as she finds herself getting closer with her ex-girlfriend Alex Vause who is  tagged responsible for getting her locked up. With Chapman facing other difficulties, such as multiple death threats, and feuds between some of the inmates, this Netflix original will have you hooked.

Never have I seen a show more entertaining than “American Horror Story.” The perfect balance of frightening and funny will leave you so emotionally intertwined in its changing plot. With a plentiful two seasons already streaming on Netflix. The first season follows the story of an American family who moves into what’s known as the ‘Haunt House’ shows the family having copious amounts of not too pleasant encounters with some of the ghostly occupants. The second season, which goes a totally different route, follows various mental patients. Both seasons of “American Horror Story” are available on Netflix and a third season to be posted. Be prepared for this series to control your life for the time being.

If you, unlike most of the world, haven’t already started watching “The Walking Dead” I would encourage you to. With this apocalyptic series telling the story of a small group attempting to survive through a time when hope is limited “The Walking Dead” leaves you itching for the next episode. Based off a comic strip by the same name The Walking Dead creates the perfect balance of horror and drama. Deeming this is the perfect series to binge watch this summer.

Do you like Sea World? After seeing “Blackfish”, a documentary that follows Seaworld’s killer whales and their abusive captivity and the killer whales capabilities to fight back under harsh treatment, you might think differently of one of the nations leading family fun oriented amusement park.

One rule of thumb, never grow attached to a character when they make it very evident that the main character is suffering from a terminal illness and will die in the course of the two hour movie. But if you can handle that kind of torture “Now Is Good” is a  perfect movie for you. As it follows Tessa a 17 year old attempting to complete a list of things she wishes to fulfill before she passes away.  Showing her journey to complete the list on the way Tessa finds herself falling in love with a boy, one of the things definitely not on the list.

Whether or not you’re looking for a movie or television series to get wrapped up on this summer, these movies and television shows have all been deemed a must watch. Whether you’re looking for a chick flick or a thriller Netflix has more programs then you could possibly want to spend your time watching.
