Steve Payne, principal of Allen High School, announced his retirement on Oct. 20. Payne has been the AHS principal for the past 13 years.

The news of his retirement was announced via email to Allen High School’s faculty and staff from Dr. Lance Hindt. Hindt also forwarded a letter from Payne to the high school.

“I am confident in my decision to step aside and my family and I are blessed beyond belief as we start a new chapter in our lives as we seek out a new destiny. I will miss the students of AHS and leading you the faculty and staff. Please know that my decision is definitely anointed with great confidence and resolve,” Payne wrote.
