Allen’s Preview to Another Title

The Allen Eagles football team once again bursts into the playoffs undefeated and winners of their ninth straight district title. After manhandling Plano West 70-41 to clinch the district title, the Eagles now turn their attention to the playoffs. Winning the state title in 2012 and 2013 there is no indication this team is slowing down. At 14-0 the Eagles will once attempt to try to spoil everyone else’s dreams and take their third straight title, which would be their fourth in seven years. The Eagle’s hold the states number one ranking and will be putting their season on the line first off playing Keller Central. (Goes into the flow charts with predictions)

1st game

Keller Central- (6-4)

Allen starts off against Keller Central in a matchup they are heavily favored to win. The 6-4 Keller Chargers will have a tough time container the talents of the Eagles star Kyler Murray in a matchup that should show lots of offense. The Eagles should be too much for Keller and should put them away in the 2nd quarter.

Prediction: Eagles take this one 55-24.

2nd Game

Desoto- (9-1)

Easily the toughest game the Eagles will face until the Final Four. Desoto can match Allen on almost every level, and last year showed it, with Allen sneaking one out. This will be one of the best games in the whole tournament, and should go back in forth with the offenses pouring it on. If Allen pulls out a win, they need their defense to step up and for the offense to be the same it has been all season. Allen’s toughest game is this one, and if they win, it will show they will be hard to stop.

Prediction: Eagles sneak past again 32-28

3rd Game

Martin (8-2)

Both teams have quality talent, and will be the teams that Allen most likely faces. Nothing compared to Desoto, but could be a trap game if Allen isn’t careful and still focused on last weeks big win. But Allen is the better team than these two and should win based on what they accomplished this season. But for no reason should this game be overlooked.

Prediction: Eagles again, 62-58

4th Game- Trinity (9-1)

If the Eagles do make it this far, (which is almost a required goal at this point) they will most likely play the team they always see this late in the season. Trinity poses big threats to Allen, but with the 40 game win streak on the line, the Eagles should prevail again. The offense is just too much to handle and can almost score at will. Eagles will have a close game but again especially it being a rivalry game, but Allen is the better team and should take this one.

Prediction: Eagles 36-28

5th Game—-Final Four— Skyline (10-0)

Toughest game Allen will have except Desoto. Both powerhouses will square off for a spot in the title game if all goes well to this point. Skyline is ranked fourth in the state, and for good reason. Having an undefeated season and shutting out three teams while holding another to six points, they have a defense you shouldn’t mess with. Allen might have a tough time with this one, and all fans should attend to cheer them on.

Prediction: Eagles edge them out 41-40

State Game – (Hopefully) Reagan (12-1) or Dickinson (13-0)

This would be our third straight title appearance and hopefully third straight title as well. The Eagles will most likely face another power force from the Houston area. Allen has shown the title game isn’t always the closest, so if Allen does make it here, you have to be pretty confident they will have it. They prove they are too much for the opposing team and take a third straight state title.

Prediction: Eagles 51- 34
